Season 18: XY: Kalos Quest (2014–15)
Season 19: XYZ (2015–16)

Pokémon: Sun & Moon (Series 6)
Season 20: Sun & Moon (2016–present)

Trainers start out with their first pokemon, given 3 choices of grass, fire, and water types depending on their region.

The main character is Ash Ketchum.
He travels all over the Pokemon world exploring every region, finding 3 friends, and no TV show is good without bad guys right?
And so they chose a group called Team Rocket!

Team Rocket had only started chasing them after they discovered that he had a rare Pokemon as his first Pokemon, more about that later.
They work for their boss, Giovanni.
He has his main Pokemon he travels with all over, also his first ever pokemon, Pikachu.

Warning: Spoliors from the first episode!
Pikachu was his first Pokemon at Professor Oak's lab, where he was supposed to get either of the 3 Pokemons:
Charmander, a fire type.
Bulbasaur, a grass type.
And last but not least, Squirtle, a water type.
He was late to pick up his first Pokemon, which meant all 3 starter Pokemons were already taken.
Professor Oak had no choice but to show him the last Pokemon, Pikachu.
After he took Pikachu, he tried to get him in his Pokeball (people that took a closer look said that it WASN'T his Pokeball, but after all, it is just a theory) but whenever he tried, Pikachu would resist.

After he had tried to "attack" a Spearow using a rock, Pikachu was attacked.
Running for his life, the Spearow calls its flock to help him.
As he fell into a lake, a new character, named Misty, pulls him out of the water mistaking him as for a BIG fish.
He takes her bicycle and tries to get away as fast as he could. after falling down a cliff, the bike breaks, and Ash tries to protect Pikachu from the flock.

After it started raining with a thunderstorm, Pikachu regains his energy after getting some electric, since Pikachu is an electric type Pokemon.
And now, scares the Spearows.
All of this was explained from the first episode. There are many people trying to upload all of these episodes onto youtube.
You will be able to watch it.

The Pokemon games are really fun, they have almost the exact same story, and like normal, they aren't as random as the TV shows for Pokemon.

The games are mostly about getting to be the champion, but I am not sure that if you lose while in the Pokemon champion, you would reset.

After becoming champion, you are mostly done with the game, there are a few other things you might have to do.
They also have Pokemon banks and such, to transfer Pokemon from one Pokemon game/region, to another.!
