Theresa May & Donald Trump's Pinocchio & Poison Ivy Problem

Well, what do you know! Today's America is more Eddie Haskell-like than it is an innocent Leave It To Beaver-type!

Is there any irony it was the US that actually dismantled the former Soviet Union Uzbekistan chemical laboratory where the Novichok nerve agent was created (see reporting of former UK ambassador Craig Murray)?

Is there any irony that the Novichok nerve agent has been reported to have been sold by a former Soviet scientist on the black market?

Is there any irony the Novichock nerve agent's actual chemical formula was printed in a book published by a former Soviet scientist?

Do any of the above three conditions help to provide conclusive proof it was Russia that poisoned the ex-British and Russian spy and his daughter? Or does this raise questions?

In the land of Sherlock Holmes one would think motive would play a pivotal and prime time role with such a sensational poisoning.

One must ask the question what role did Scripal's British spy handler Pablo Miller play in the matter. Miller is known as a very close spy associate of Christopher Steele who used Russian intelligence connections to create the dirt dossier on Trump. Would and could this factor into motive?

Then, of course, what motive would Russia have:

  • The Scripals were poisoned a couple of weeks before the Russian presidential election where Vladimir Putin was publicly on record as wanting and trying very hard to receive over 70% of the vote, to achieve his highest vote total ever. Why then would he want a front and center controversy that could drag down his vote total?

  • Russia will soon host The World Cup and certainly it would not wish to do this in the midst a steep backdrop of controversy that would bring indignity to Russia as host of the games.

  • When Scripal was arrested he disappeared completely for two years and easily could have been killed then. Few would have noticed. Overall, Scripal served 10 years in a Russian prison and then lived freely for eight years at his Salisbury home in Britain free of any attempts on his life.

  • With Russia's heavy involvement in Syria, where chemical weapon controversy has long been on the front burner, why would Russia seek to open a second theater of controversy surrounding chemical nerve agents, especially in the UK where Tory anti-Russian nemesis Theresa May already was in the pits suffering low public support?

My personal opinion is Russia and China have formed a new alliance centered around the Belt-Road Initiative, using green infrastructure to reopen the ancient Silk Road land and sea trading routes. It's a trillion-dollar project capable of completely reshaping the economics of Eurasia, the Middle East, The Stan Region and Lower Asia. Europe and India might eventually join.

Why would Putin want anything to do with the disgusting right wing hair-trigger politics of a Donald Trump, a greedy warmongering Wall Streeter like Hillary Clinton or the Tori pandering monarchist Theresa May. Common sense tells us Putin would much prefer to negotiate with the wisdom and sensibility of a Jeremy Corbyn or a Bernie Sanders, someone capable of a strong middle game on a chess board.

Also noteworthy, Dilyana Gaytandzhieva is the same journalist whose investigative journalism uncovered US underground operatives were buying Eastern European high grade military weaponry and shipping it up the river through Jordan into Syria to arm Syrian mercenary militants. It's a pity so few American journalists share her courage to challenge the forces of power. Instead, they parrot Pentagon reports!
