I walk by the river
I kneel before the bank
The waves crash in my ears
The wind soothes my skin

I am surrounded by friends
Close companions through time
They scoop water from the river
I am splashed with abandon

I am drenched
But I do not care
This is a celebration
It's my birthday after all
