October 2010 - Boston in the Fall
From the Talent Poetry Readings
“ . . . for he does not postpone life, but lives already. He has not one chance, but hundred of chances.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Essential Writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Essays: First Series pg. 147
And I thought of Boston in the fall
It’s been nearly one hundred and fifty years
Since I walked the cobblestone steps
Covered in orange leaves
The grass in thick green clumps near the orchard
People did not watch baseball, or football
People read, and prayed for a healthy harvest

A wonderful tribute to my writing hero, Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Thanks. Yeah, he's a good one. One thing I've wanted to do like him, travel the UK. So far, got the Richard III Society, Alex Marchant, Billy Bob Buttons, and might add you to the list, LOL. Nice to meet you.
Congratulations human. This poem is featured in this week's Muxxybot poetry curation post.
