Would also like to acknowledge Kira Omans for being One in a Billion, the nonprofit organization that builds community through storytelling. She looks happy in her last picture on Facebook, she just did a big speech in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Friday.

Also, congratulations to Prince Henry of Wales, and Meghan Markle, now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their Royal Wedding; and just learned from the Richard III Society that the couple shares a common Royal ancestor because of something to do with Cambridge, and a High Sheriff from the County of Durham. Yes Durham, like the Priest of Durham.

For this Making Red Roses the Audiobook entry, just going to give updates on where we stand in our marketing efforts:

The Wishing Shelf Book Awards – Almost forgot that I entered the Red Roses book in this contest. One of the benefits is a review. So hopefully we’ll get that soon.

Audio File Magazine - Still waiting on Audio File Magazine’s review of Red Roses.

Atlanta Fringe Festival - Sent a 15 minute sample of Red Roses to the Atlanta Fringe Festival via Submittable. Got accepted. They’re going to play it on their website from May 28th to June 17th. Will post the link as the next entry of the Making Red Roses the Audiobook ulog, so everyone can listen to what we’ve been working on for FREE.

Also, working on a flyer with our man James Brodie, of Blue Ivy in New Zealand, that will be handed out downtown Atlanta during the festival to promote the audio sample on their website.

Here’s a rough draft:

Voice Arts Awards - Got in on early bird registration for the Voice Arts Awards. Nominating Kira Omans, for Best Female Audiobook Narrator in a Romance. Entered the story in the Romance category because it fit the best on the description of the requirements. No Historical Fiction category.

Sent them the original file for Chapter 02 with just Kira reading, there’s no music or sound. Used Chapter 02 because it reveals the Lady of Berwickshire’s romantic problem. However, the Romance portion of Red Roses more like a subplot. The story focuses on Richard III preparing to end of the Wars of Roses.

Grammys – Renewed my Grammy membership last week. Need to get the retail version posted as planned. Then wait for the submission date. Red Roses will then be up for Grammy consideration.

One thing I’ve got going for me, we met a lot of Grammy people during our tenure with the worldwide hit podcast Get Behind Me, Now Stay There. Hopefully, they’ll hear about it, and possibly give me a vote.

Praying to God for a miracle here. If all works out, we’ll get into the final round of voting. That means more exposure, sales, and a trip to LA in early 2019 for the Grammys!
