POETRY DICE CONTEST : TOSSED WORDS
Hi everyone, this is my entry for the Poetry Dice Contest hosted by @rensoul17.
To join the contest all you need to do is to go here, take the picture prompt, identify the images and write a poem using all images on the dice. Do have fun.
With sparkling droplets like rain,
Like diamonds and pearls,
Falling about like little lightning bolts
Which creased the earth's face,
Caressing the stalks of her hair
And kissing every wrinkle, every tear.
That bridged the sky
With footprints of varied colours
Which whispered of beauty
And the art of nature's imagination.
Pattered about the river, the mud,
The pale beach sand,
Sharing stories of a world of wars
Of sickness, of death,
Where pain pierced skins like an arrow,
Like a needle
And fear held hands into restless sleep,
Like a lover, like a friend.
Without teeth, with only dim eyes to see
Or for men who would chew a book;
Passages, pages and all
And spit back words that are lifeless
And colourless.
The romance between the moon
And the roaring sea,
The hunger of the desert
And the fear that sits in the breast
Of all that breathes.
This is for you and me.
