A Question of Happiness
What are the things that put a smile on your face?
The euphoria you get from winning a race?
The aromas arising from cooking lamb roast?
Or taking a hike along an old rugged coast?
Observing a flower you've grown from seed?
Or the high that you get from smoking some weed?
Watching a rabbit pulled out of a hat?
Or remembering the time you bought your first flat?
Dancing outside in the midst of a storm?
Or sat round a fire keeping you warm?
Singing praise to a God high up above?
Or simply giving a hug to someone you love?
Maybe it's riches and growing your wealth?
Or do you take joy from just having your health?
Watching Foo Fighters play the Pyramid stage?
Or writing a poem out on a page?
Attached to a parachute high in the sky?
Or getting the handbag you wanted to buy?
Searching for bugs within a grass heap?
Or curling up in bed and going to sleep?
If life seems too heavy and getting you down
Then maybe you take pleasure from having friends around.
And while the world can be such a horrible place
Sometimes things feel better with a smile on your face.
