Poetry Dice Entry: Twister - Poetry Dice Challenge 3000 (Week 24) PDC3K

in #poetrydice7 years ago (edited)

I think the last time I wrote a poem was for an English class, in high school. Since, more than a few decades have past, I have little recollection as to what I was taught. I know that I felt conflicted because it was meant to be a creative expression, but the assign topic and required structure, limited my creativity.

At this point in my life, I refuse to be constrained by beliefs that limit me. With that said I have opted to take poetic license, have fun, and be inspired by the roll of the dice! So, here is my twist on the challenge…

TWISTER

The question today, “Will I play?”
How it does weigh.

It’s direction I seek.
This is not for the meek!

It’s left hand blue.
This I can do!

I’m building strength
As I extend my length.

It’s right foot red.
Not a move I dread!

It’s right hand yellow.
I’ll just reach over that fellow!

It’s right foot green.
Now that is just mean!

Like an ancient castle wall
Surely, I’ll fall!

No need to moon
This will be over soon.

Balance is key.
So carefully I move my knee.

As I home in on my spot
I’m filled with fraught!

My knee begins to flop.
And down I do plop.

There is no shame.
It’s only a game!
