Poetry Dice Entry: "Getting to know MJ"
Here I stand
Like a fish in the sand
Craving fountains of life
Bureaucratically denied
Forbidden fruit
From the tree of truth
I was full grown
When I first met you
By your grace
The sting of
Years of pain
Melted away
On a cloud
Of smoky gray
What vile injustice
Would try to withhold this?
Cordoned off
Keyless lock
Misery's accomplice
Not an addiction
But a chance at wellness
Nature's pride
Demonized
Wild claims
That I'll be reckless
Forget intoxication
You're my pain medication
Chasing shadows
Bringing relief
Peace, silence and sleep
