Poetic Appreciation - Emptiness.. Contest by @ajremy

I found a beautiful piece of artwork (a poem actually)
and I'll love to give it a befitting appreciation based on my understanding the poem.

First, I give much gratitudes to @tony-duke and @ajremy for bringing up this contest and promoting poet's recognition on steemit.

Emptiness

A formation of skin
Walking endlessly to find itself
Along shores and quiet roads
Carrying heart with a heavy soul

With nothing to feel
Living a life surreal
No turning points;
Nor twisting roads

Silence fills the mind
Realization come to bind
Everything is but;
An emptiness inside

The poem is a tragedy that speaks on the emptiness and lost state of a living soul with no clue of his purpose and reason for his existence. Therefore, just living through life trying to discover himself until he realises the end that he lived an ill-fated life with no achievements.
A four line poem of three stanzas endowed in a lot of poetic devices and figurative speeches .
The poem starts with a synecdoche A formation of skin which signifies a human being. By the way, a synecdoche is a figurative speech by which a part of something is used to represent the whole and vice versa . E.g All hands are on deck. All hands in this statement represents everyone.

The first stanza talks about a living being going through his life in search of a purpose and trying to discover himself. Living with a burden in his heart.
A formation of skin
Walking endlessly to find itself
Along shores and quiet roads
Carrying heart with a heavy soul

The second stanza only but layed more emphasis in the person's cluelessness, lack of choice and neither of a breakthrough no turning points. Nor twisting road

With nothing to feel
Living a life surreal
No turning points;
Nor twisting roads

Finally, the third stanza ends with a conclusion and realisation that the person in his journey through life discovered he had achieved nothing and he's back to square one. A fate of emptiness!

Everything is but;
An emptiness inside

Poetic devices/figures of speech
Aside from synecdoche, we can also find many other devices used by the poet, notably;

1. Hyperbole: walking endlessly

2. imagery: carrying heart with heavy soul, no turning points, no twisting roads

3. Personalisation: silence fills the mind "realization come to bind". Here, silence and realization were given the attributes of a human being.

Finally we can find rhymes throughout the poem.With nothing to feel.... *Living a life surreal.
