Steemit Poetry Contest #11 "Stranded Solitary Sailor"
Here's my entry to the poetry contest conducted by @terrycraft over here.
The topic for this week is 'Loneliness'.
Stranded Solitary Sailor
On a sunny Summer day,
Did that island peacefully lay,
Dead in the middle o' the ocean,
Free from any and all commotion.
At first, it felt like an escape - a five star vacation,
Away from the talking ape - its city, state and nation.
Soon the silence fell and louder did it grow,
And made that place a hell, but nowhere could I go.
Stranded on the island, somewhere a tiny spec,
This sailor was disbanded, thrown right off the deck.
A hundred years have passed, since the sailor breathed his last,
His skeleton waiting to express, the insufferable torture of loneliness.
