Eye Sigh
Sighs do not only leave our mouths,
they escape our eyes, as well—
like crumpled clouds losing courage,
sailing emptily to the ground.

Short but sweet, and I like the word arrangement.
I think the premise is true, there can also be an eye sigh!
Glad you enjoyed it, dear Kenny.
It's quite short, even by my standards! Initially, I thought I would develop the idea, but then realized that's it—a stand-alone little snapshot.
“Sighs… escape our eyes…” Brilliant turn of phrase. I believe the eyes sigh more deeply than our lungs and mouths ever could. Lips may lie… but eyes cannot help but reveal the soul.
Good point, my friend, about lips may lie but eyes being more true, as the windows of the soul. Thank you, for hearing, and amplifying the poem for me, too.
_/|\_To pack so much meaning into 23 words,
is a gift that not many people have.
I must admit, the meaning escaped me initially,
but now I see it.
Beautiful.
Thanks, man. As a lover of short form--epigrams, haikus, proverbs, etc... I like to see how much I can say in as little space as possible. Good you were able to see the sigh
