Monsters Under the Bed

"There's no such thing" my mother said
"As children living on your bed!"
Yes, that's it. If you feel robbed, here's some commentary: If monsters were indeed living under the bed, they'd probably be just as scared as we are - and that's exactly what inspired me many years ago to write this poem. This original poem is one my oldest, but remains one of my favourites. Thank you to @atopy for bringing it to life.

I always tell my 6 year-old nephew that the monsters under his bed just want pajamas. If they had some they probably wouldn't be so grumpy. This always works. Thanks for sharing!
