Another dignity (an original poem)

Living for the sake of happiness,
dignity only serves
as egoistic excuse,
but never as a code of justice. 

We blunder so much
that only a proud king
is left standing on our chess board,
facing an army on the other side. 

We don’t care to take responsibility
when freedom slips from our hands.
We just hope to die in fields of dignity,
but living is another matter. 

And on the last day,
surrounded by family in need,
we silently cry for forgiveness,
when fear destroys that vague egoism. 

By the doors of last salvation,
emotions don’t matter.
We left standing naked and humble
only to cover with our actions.
