Tying A Knot with Broken Words
There are words in my mouth,
Stuck between my teeth,
Hesitating to sit on my tongue and spill,
Every time i forget my eyes on your face.
My fingers have crumpled into fists,
Resting innocent at my side
Because they itch to touch your hair
And caress your soft flushed skin.
There's a fever in my heart
And a throbbing in my blood,
For your whispered words to settle a harpoon
on my soul and whisk me along the tides
Of your love, your sweet nectar falling like summer seeds
On my parched lips, on my weary heart.
What can i do?
Can i steal you like a kiss of surf spray
On the lips of the ravaged shore?
Can i hoard you like a pirate's gold chest
filled with curses and ghouls with evil intentions?

Wow ... this is a beautiful piece . The use of figurative expressions is simply beautiful and the imagery the work projects is exquisite... great work
