Confused politicking
With masquerades in festive embrace
But forgot to watch the soup pot
Of the cat playing the flute.
Well, small gods in the vastness
Of their atomic existence selecting beans
For dinner yet posting shots of Paris
In summer, by the Rhine, rotting flowers
Pulled off students carrying placards,
Beatifying the hungry migrant
Selling doughnuts on the sidewalk,
Do not really listen to prayers, do they?
Bodies swallow its banks but the 9 o'clock news
Says someone donated tricycles
To graduating youths near the Kainji dam.
They tweeted a president getting married
And savages tweeted their repressed revolt
Like wives leaving soup pots
To take infections from unwashed toilets
And raising battle cries on itching bottoms.
Well, It is still a revolt albeit on Instagram story.
Were paraded on crime watch.
The slapping senator was not paraded,
I wonder why.
His fat pockets swelled like the Niger
And ate the crops of sycophantic lips
Praise singing to his misdemeanors.
Two thieves between the beloved roman
Like two Jesuses between a senator,-
Can we still forgive him for he knows not...?
But who built the borehole that pumped once
And stopped like a man on Viagra and weed?
Meant for a camel chewing grass,
Disinterested about the flies parading
Like models dressed in flimsy see throughs,-
Selling clothes, hawking sex like groundnuts
But it is artistic licence, yes?
The revolt of your penile gland
And the retort of your nipples
Cannot change the fact that one yard
Of cut up stitches is worth a bicycle.
I digress,- social media tailors
Will bring you the best option available
But be weary,- like the rats and cats,
The asses and camels, what they show
Is not what they give.
