Winding Down - An Exhausting Process
Sometimes I run out of daylight, then I run out of night and my mind is still racing. When it is time to sleep, I have to put my mind to sleep. This is a poem that is inspired by my winding down process. Listen to the video while you read it.

Winding Down - An Exhausting Process
I conceed
Tired and need sleep
Work isn't complete...
But when is it ever?
I'll have another chance tomorrow to be clever
Find peace before slumber
Necessary for wonder
Dreams are extensions of thoughts built in a day
Cognitive connections where you lead the way
Letting the river calm
Focusing on breathing
Laying down my head
Reflective soul reading.
Gratitude and prayer
Mindful and aware
To be great you have to think great
Embrace the love and the fear
Let go of the the frustration
Tasks incomplete
Hold to the vision
Close your eyes and sleep.
