Warriors Call
A heart that no longer beats
Beats to the sound of your drums
A song that is no longer sung
Sung to the sound of your horn
A smile to be had upon warm summers night
A dance to carry flight of one thousand birds.
This soldier shall he march no more
This knight, his day has come.
He stood so tall at lines in front
His chest pushed out his armor shined to sparkling
His brother up held the banner high
Swaying in misty breeze of morn
The shouts were cast the call of war
And a thundering so mighty as a whip gone crack
Came coursing through the dew to them
A thousand men of opposite force came down upon them then
A thousand soldiers clad in black
A thousand warriors cold
The clashing of the swords were mighty
The song of steal and blood
And down they went those brothers bold
And to Hades hand they went
Screaming to Ares as they reached forth
To be let to rejoin the fight
((Work in progress. Hi folks My name is G.Farrell. And I'm an aspiring writer. My friend Tory'san reaaaally wanted me to post something here and get started on Steemit so... Here you go Tory'san. I love you!))
Welcome to Steemit! Yey, I can vouch for G. Farrel / @vikav1, she is the real deal. Hope to see more.
I like it, and thanks for sharing.
It's probably better than some of the poetry I've posted.
There is a poetry slam contest you can check out that @prufarchy runs, if you would like to enter. The deadline for this one is today, but there should be another one after it.
Welcome!
Oh wow thanks!
