My skin is a curse
As I start the day
I hope I don’t get kicked out of the cafe
They said it’s an all white party
Maybe that’s why I wasn’t invited to the buffet
Even if I protest
No one cares it’s now a cliche
As I run along for lunch
I hope my boss pardons my lateness
But no! All I get in return is you’re fired
Me even trying to explain is aimless
He said with a British accent
Employing black folks, diminishes greatness
As I go home today
I hope this day doesn’t get worse
I know I have to change seats in this bus
This white girl thinks I’m trying to steal her purse
Sir! Don’t ask me why I wear a frown
My skin is a curse
When I go out tomorrow
I hope my black skin doesn’t stain his white tuxedo
As we all appear in white shirt on different skin
I hope I don’t get chopped like a torpedo
Because I saw in the P.M news that
We can now share everything, even a lido
I hade forgive you for hurting me
But you were too blind to realize that
This is where our fairytale ended. >quote

Stereotypes are a curse, not your skin.

Great poem @victoryudofia. I really hate that this type of intolerance still goes on in our world. It's Fckin ridiculous that anyone should have to be treated in this way :(
