Polarities (Original Poem):
One hundred degrees of boiling, bubbling, scalding water or zero degrees of frozen, paralysed, sharpened iced particles consuming my body
Love with every incalculable ounce I can consume, pinching passion on my flesh to remind myself of its realness
Anger to the inmost pits of devilish summoning, conjured up by a deity solely set on destruction
Sorrows so bolted and wedged, toes of slush, cracked heels of concreted blocks
Forgiveness so open, expansive, encompassing, it reconciles grudges cyclical karmic lifetimes could have generated
Solidarity to an isolated singular molecule, so desperately wanting to be alone
Togetherness, so desperately wanting to be united, to feel needed and wanted
Riches of luxury, layered papers and plastics stamped with marks of importance, creating insatiable appetites
An absolute disdain for material needs, higher energies calling for lights from within
My eyes were closed when yours were open
My mind was shut when yours was awake
The whitest cloak of a collective calmness
The blackest barge of clotted borders
Let’s decide in the middle ground where the soil is blue and the sky is brown.
