Mesmerised by each droplet falling from above eyes and to floors

As splashing water bounces off of hard surfaces in a dance of welcomed embrace

The pools of water greet the rain by hugging and lifting their brethren into the air and pulling them back down towards them

“You are one of us”

Welcome to the next stage of your lives

As clouds have birthed you and pools embrace you for hours or days

Until the sun bids farewell to your party

The pools of water part again as they rise above in new costumes

Thrown so high they cannot be seen until the clouds open their gates for a new party to begin

For a new dance to be recited

And on special occasions flashes of light move with intensity to the rhythms of the dance of the rain

As the thunder orchestrates loud drums for the rain to change the movements of their dance

On queue

Never missing a beat

As rain falls it rises

A dance to be danced for nature to renew

A dance to be danced to sweep away and cleanse

A dance to be danced for lovers hidden under blankets watching from their windows

A dance to be danced freely and wildly under the rain

With the rain

The freedom of dance that is the rain.
