Life & Death Haikus: Winning Battles (Original Poem)

in #poetry6 years ago

Don't let evil win
You were formed from righteousness
Make the best choices...

You will be tested and tried by your enemies. The enemies you have now may not be the enemies you have tomorrow, but your love for both should remain the same. Why are we asked to love our enemies? Can I truly answer such a formidable question? We are asked to love our enemies because we set an example of kindness, mercy and love that all should find no iniquity or sinfulness in our nature. Could you imagine if Jesus Christ fought back the Romans and Jews that were begging Him to be tortured and crucified? He accepted His fate and died for a greater purpose, sacrificing His very life so that we may have everlasting life, those of us who believe on Him as our Saviour. The more you are kind and loving and merciful to your enemies, the more God shall punish them on judgement day and remember your love and righteousness which will reward you more blessings and treasures up in heaven. There are reasons for everything we are commanded to do. Do not give in to your fleshly temptations to bring harm and retaliate. Fear God and not man, for no weapon formed against you shall truly prosper. God can raise the dead back to the living and no one else.

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
(King James Version Bible - Book Matthew: Chapter: 5 Verse: 44)

Regarding Jesus Christ, Our Lord & Saviour)

15 "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."
(King James Version Bible - Book John: Chapter 3: Verse: 15-21)
