Do not get stuck in the disease of conformity.
Stand out in the crowd, swim against the stream.
The benefits of following others are a scheme.
The crowd emits sameness and mundanity.
Think for yourself, follow your own judgement.
Do not blindly trust the powers that be.
Question the system, understand what makes you free.
Do not allow yourself to get lost, don't unwittingly assent.
Resist when you know it's wrong,
Fight when you have found your cause.
Don't listen to everyone, don't follow the applause,
Become your own person and sing your own song.

I believe it is one of our greatest strengths and greatest weaknesses to conform. Yes we do it without even thinking that it controls us in many negative ways, but i believe it is necessary to have some level of conformity.
Not necessarily to a group but with your true friends and family. We as humans need some level of approval from our peers to be mentally healthy.
I agree with you there. Conformity to your family environment is actually a good thing.

I like what you said, BUT I have found that a lot of people say that they want to stand out but in reality they only just want to be a part of a group, you have to be a very brave person to walk the path of unconformity.

In this day and age this couldn't be more true. After returning home to up-state NY first time in 3 years from living in wholesome family centered traditional cultures in South America. I feel like main stream USA is culturally diseased and being "normal" is not what I want to be.
