Smiles with the rain
The west wind blows with a push
breathing freely with a rush
something is wrong deep within
the clouds goes to sleep from beneath.
darkness everywhere
could this mean a rain?
yes without using my brain
the roof noise says it all.
Looking around
I see the drench
people running here and there
shelter and cover will be fair
seeing them afar they affirm.
rainbow heralds itself
beautiful to share
smartphone begging for capture
the moment seems like a rapture
the heavens grants the blessings.
Benefits fulfilled
pastures flourish from earth's wetness
humidity level brings freshness
cool for the human flesh
dispose of drought fears puts the mind at rest.

why I wrote the poem.
My week days are lecture filled one as I'm a student in the university. It's not easy as education consumes the consumer. I got home tired after leaving the hall.
Darkness covers the sky. I knew the clouds meant the rain will pour. It fell for a long period of time and power was cut off. With no fan to cool my head, I slept off unawares. Woke up to meet the latter rainfall and got caught up in writing this piece.
The rain is a blessing to all nations; as it enriches the earth with all blessings. Everyone knows without rainfall droughts, water to drink, agriculture stability, electricity turmoil is inevitable.
It was fun writing this poem as it made me thankful.
