LITTLE BIRD. (POETRY)

LITTLE BIRD.

Little bird with your body so small, you compensate with an attitude tall.
Insignificant you’re not, in open spaces, your confidence takes you to many places.
Predators abundant fill the air, but you are nonchalant. Why should you care?
You’ve been given life; you want to live, Grateful to nature, she’s got so much to give.

You wake each day at the crack of dawn, with wings outstretched, you greet the morn.
Sunshine or rain; Come what may, nothing is going to spoil your day.
After eating seeds provided for you, you fly to tree tops to enjoy the view.
An eagle swoops down from a lofty height; a tender morsel is in his sight.

Angry, indignant, you’re not afraid; you make your escape, you won’t be delayed.
Powerful claws, ready to snatch; you move too fast, he’s missed his catch.
Waiting below on a lower branch, you bide your time, then take your chance.
It’s not your nature for you to cower; this is your strength and part of your power.

Little bird what makes you so brave? Fearless and bold, is how you behave.
You do not see yourself as small, you are mighty, strong and tall
Danger is past, you choose to believe; it all depends on how you perceive
Life is for living and that’s what you’ll do; Skies are not grey, they’re always blue.
