SMELL THE ROSES
There are those times
When it feels like your best
Is not enough
Like its no best at all
When your ambitions mind
Keeps screaming without restraints
About how you are no good
Of how all you have done
Is pure nothing at all
It hurls those hurtful words
That makes you feel smaller
And smaller, till you are smallest
Dearest,
Take a break from the riot
The seeming failures and disappointments
The hopeless comparisons
And endless regrets
Take a break
And smell the roses
Bring it closer
Sniff slowly
Inhale deeper
Let it's scent calm your soul
Just smell the roses
Remember the things you did right
The little victories here and there
The ground breaking achievements
And the sense of pride you felt then
Feel it all again
Smell the roses
Remind yourself of what you have done
Of what you can do
What you will do
It's all not going fine now
But it will
So take a break
And just smell the roses
