MAMA AFRICA
MAMA AFRICA
Tell the world I know her worth,
Tell heaven she is rare,
A jewel whose worth I dare not measure.
At night I shared most
Of my dreams with her
The twilight in her eyes
Is the light that lit my eyes
Mama Africa,
the little black African girl that sees
reasons in giving birth to me
Oh! Listen to the voice of an Africa's little lad;
Whose first word was 'mama'.
Hath there a being closer to me than she that house me when I was mere fluids?
Slowly forming from limbs to a child waiting to be born;
And I was rooted deep into her heart
Mama melts the skies and ground
Squeezed the life in them and
Made them a one place for me
A paradise to my hell life
Oh mama!
Hath there anyone more precious than you?
Mama endured the ugly pain of nine full moon?
The beauty of a home hath thee mama,
For a home without you is a library without books so empty and useless...
Your are the life that my life lives on,
O mother!
All I ever wanted is your breath
That your beauty breathe into me
To inhale those fragrances you rained
On my face
Oh mama!
Your words
sharpened my life
Fed me incomprehensive joy
That faded my tearful acid tears dried
Thy roles carried out by others though almost perfect but not without flaws.
Heavenly Father created you so well,
for you place can't be taken;
your strength amazed me
It gives hope to my broken wandering life
That's away from home
Oh mama!
With my bruised kneels and
My black charcoal face
I laid in your arms and you pulled
Me from your
Left breast to the right breasts
Sucking the one with the better taste
To silent my weeping pain
Why you awake yours.
Mama your stress filled heart is revealed by your smile filled face;
For endurance hath thy way of living just to make me smile.
Your dark skinned color reveals beauty beyond comprehension;
For you are brighter than the sun
lighted than the mere air
beautiful as the moon and stars
Mama Africa thou hath the first person I know who welcomed me with happy tears
When my life was hard and harsh
You were there, mama
Loving and caring
Packing my broken bones for
My life to stand on
Mama hath closer than all for who else was there those mournful night;
When papa was snoring and my skin burning hot.
Momma held me closely to heart healing with her words she said pitifully
"Oh my child!
Let's the earth crack and break
I don't care,
Let's the rain goes half wet and dried
I don't care,
All I want is to see you well
And happiness dipping it tears
into your young eyes;
And I will be here in your heart
Breathing air into your nostrils
So you may lives and see me
Die in my rotten age"
Oh! Who else was there when the fully grown me was daily groomed by nothing but Mama's Words!
O mama, you're my Iron lady.
Beautiful poem. Touched my heart. ❤👍😊
