His Story
Pen and paper are your bread and butter
By the window your gazes flatter
The old times that is now prevalent
Defiance in your heart much is redolent
You fought the nemesis to gain our liberty
For the country that reeks of poverty
You wrote a book that speaks of volition
You changed our world into a better nation
Now many centuries have passed
But the treasure you gave us outlast
The pains of yesterday is our honor and pride
The struggle and love are the light our guide
P.S.: I have a Rizal class this semester and one time the instructor tells the story of Dr. Jose Rizal (he is Philippines' National Hero, if you don't know) and how 'HIS STORY' came from HISTORY. So basically our history is a tale of his works, heroism and patriotism.
So you could say this poem is inspired from him.
That's all.
Best regards,
