Exit Sandwoman

Watch the shadows as they burn so brightly
See them come to you nightly
You've just never seen them before
'cos you're too blind to the reality
Behind your eyes

It's not what you see
It's what you believe
How you perceive
The actions and choices made throughout the day
If your mind is clear and free from guilt
You'll defeat these monsters
From beneath your quilt

This is one of many poems I wrote over 10 years ago and have only recently come back to so thought I would share to see people's feedback as I start to get back into the swing of things. Thanks for reading.
