Dreams of Psilocybin Flight

in #poetry6 years ago

I wrote this, trying to capture what it is to "trip" and the somewhat chaotic, but beautiful journey it takes you on. All pathways open, and all possibilities are endless...

Empty space is what I seek.

Adrift in a vacuum, no meaning in time.

But I’ve been here since it all began…

Thoughts colliding, dividing, providing me insight,

traveling through fabrics of existence, faster than light.

Supernova burst, hyperactive energy escapes,

roiling, broiling, cosmic clouds of impossible shapes.

Inhale the aroma - gun smoke and lavender blues,

of perpetual rhythm and orbital decay,

the dawn and ending of another day.

Yet, I find myself pulled in deeper to the quickening fray.

On chaos wings, I’m pushed and pulled, no direction in flight,

but in psilocybin dreams, I swirl and twirl, guided by light.

Gently landing back to the ground,

living tapestry of lights pulse all around.

Empty space of thought sublime...

Journey ending, feeling of time, returning

burning new insights of something more divine...

I commend your attempt, I enjoyed the rhyming employed to provide structure for the different levels of the trip. I would love to hear about what you used as the "backdrop" of the trip...the colors of grey, blue and purple with the discussion of the sun leads me to a sunset (didn't know which of the "the dawn and ending" was figurative) because, then you discuss a "tapestry of lights", which I thought could be a overlook of a metropolitan area.

I am glad to hear that you reached your "sublime" empty space for "new insights" :) thanks for sharing!

Actually, I live way out in nature, in the forest. Very, very far from any city. So, much of this is quite literal as I see the stars and the Milky Way up close, and their so bright out here at nigh. You see the stars twinkle and glisten, and they shift with all of these amazing colors. Under a Psilocybin journey, I like to be outside and watch this display. I can almost feel myself sort of being sucked up into the galaxy. Very humbling, but very beautiful. It puts everything in perspective and quiets the chaos in my own head. Melts away all that fear and negativity. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look!

Very cool, light pollution is a pain when it comes to observing the night sky near a city. I would absolutely rather be outdoors than inside during a trip but sometimes variables are just easier to control indoors.

My favorite timing is when I am finishing my journey as the sun is rising. It has helped newer folks have a visual toward the end to help assist with a return. Happy travels!

Very cool. I'm a night-tripper. Last experience, (Nov 4th) was absolutely incredible. Sitting under the brightest full moon I'd ever seen. My wife was out of town, and so much emotion was running through me, that I called her in the middle of the night and woke her up just to tell her that I loved her. I think I cried for like, 45-minutes, which is more crying than I've done the entire year. I just did my write-up on microdosing and my experiences. Would be curious to read your input.

Excellent description...
all is one!

Dude. Yes. Yes! You took me back! Good job really. Thank you for this creation! Upvoted and followed!

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to connect with it. You know, that's one of the highest compliments to give to anyone who writes.

I live out in the woods as well!
