The Final Last Chance
His soft kisses
sold out the whiskey
engraved in his breath
long before getting home
to find her alone
waiting again
for him
like a lullaby hymn.
He tasted
his guilt thick paste
on her petal soft lips
while his missing rib
scolded his remorse
as she held him close
like she was sure
of his detour
but still dared
to have him spared.
'Forgive me'
He let her in
confessing his sins
of where he had been
whatever he had seen
including his deeds
regretful as he pleaded
for another chance
one last chance
the final last chance.
