Fly away returns

Forever is a long way away but that is where I'll be
Under the eternal flames burning bright across the sea
Silent with empty thoughts none left without doubt
Cold and Alone

There were many once upon a time listening with hope
But little more arrived than the rushing down the slope
Screaming in to deaf ears and hearts no longer stout
Turning to Stone

Taken far upon tip of wing into the darkened nights
The reflections far below the glint of twinkling lights
Belonging in this place where none can hear the spout
Upon the Throne

The drafts of the winds carried voice across the air
And where it fell it lay always broken and in despair
It wasn't a choice to arrive but is what came about
Absent and Blown

Opportunity had knocked and now little of it remains
Sands shifted and life was washed toward the drain
Seeds planted with care and love died in the drought
Reap what is sown
