Tangled
i never operated
under the illusion
that between us
this thing
was anything but
illogical and irrational
yet leaving us insatiable
hungering for the taste
of sinful bliss
i never imagined
we could be
uncomplicated
with our
convoluted passions
so unrestrained
and resistant to all efforts
to tame
i deny all assumptions
that our assignation would end
with regret assigned
to weigh on my heart
and blame
to echo in my ears
