Sea Side
i have
to organize
the tidal wave of my
emotions and opinions
in such a way
that they don’t spill forth
from my lips
unbidden
uncontrolled and
hotly contested
by those
who once pretended
to swim peacefully
in the pool
of my hopes and dreams
even as they clogged the filters
that kept the waters safe
so that i don’t drown them
in the truths
that they deny
