Day 30 - The Darkness That Lived
Once upon a time, there lived a man
In the deep dark forest where sunlight dare not touch
Where the owls dare not turn their heads in a span
The animals beneath, at the sound of his feet, crouch
Source
He never felt alone, solitude was bliss
On his high tree house, in the depth of the forest
The tree creaked for life beneath his feet and hissed
His mighty arms tore branches away, deforesting
This is especially where a young lady
Full of life and vigour, comes to melt this frost giant
Make him love and not want solitude and be shady
But alas, this is that kind of story defiant
Source
This is a story about a man, a woman, you
There's someone in the darkness, calling out
Drawing you into your own nightmare preview
Except you're not asleep, you're in a drought
You gasp for air but your head is below water
You're drowning in the sea of addiction and craving
Be truthful to us all, we know you love the slaughter
You can feel yourself changing, obedient for a fix, a slave
Source
To leave is suicide, to stay is murder
You decided to commit suicide but have no resolve
You feel there's no hope, the forest too dark
You can see the towering might of the darkness
But how can you see without light?
No man falls into a well and leaves without help
That's why we are here, we are the torch burning bright
We are the wish of many, restore hope from kelp
Source
Darkness and light does last forever
But there's always light in the night
There's a way out, there's hope clever
This pain, this darkness, you'll smite
