Lis woke up with a smile, it was her sixth birthday.
Mum woke her up with a kiss on her forehead.
She looked around and learned that her dad was away.
Searching for presents, she sprang out of her bed.

Richard was on his way with his daughter's birthday cake.
On his bike, he rode, smiling; she loved surprises.
From nowhere came the four-wheeled monster; his pain he couldn't fake.
Then was his moment and darkness took over; a crisis.

Her presents lay scattered all around him,
So did he and her cake; they did swim,
In the pool of agony, stains of chrome.
All he wanted to do was just get back home.

Soon people swarmed at the scene,
Whispers of awe, they were shook at the gore.
They expressed their concerns; they said, but didn't mean,
Existence is fickle; gone then but there before.

"Where is dad, mommy?", asked little Lis.
"He is on his way sweetie. It's your birthday, he wouldn't miss"
The phone rang a melody and towards it the mother ran.
"Hello, it's the Police. We have some news for you, ma'am"
