We laughed and we kissed
And we drank and got pissed
And the days were long and fine

The spark in my eyes
It was pleasure and surprise
When you promised that you'd only be mine

But it was later that year
When we were full of good beer
After we'd drank stein after stein

You said you had strayed
And what a price you had paid
As your monkey kept oozing foul brine

I let angry words fly
Then we said our goodbyes
Damn you fate and your cruel old designs
