How the harmful innocence of the skirt conquered again?
How to the mysterious creature resplendent in beauty
His all and all he relinquished?

Oh, Children of the scriptures!
Where are your pulpits?
Have they not scripturized those scriptural epics?
Of Sampson de Power and other tragic boxers of great bravery!
And how their strengths,
Like candle-wax melted?

Flee,
Oh ye youthful boxers, flee,
From this mainspring of destructions,
