Breathe

Hunger and Thirst
Descend upon us
Clouds of boiling mist
Bend time and space for us

Suffocating in our thoughts
Anxieties and fears
Silenced by memories
Of tragedy and tears

We silence our demons
Drown them with the screams
Of our divine flesh
Crown ourselves king and queen

In this moment we are lost
As we remember only one thing
To breathe
