The most difficult time to be in a relationship for a guy is in his late twenties..
Trust me I haf seen it all.
This is a period when u are stuck in limbo.
Trying to figure awt urself, purpose, carreer, love... Who u wanna be.
At this bandwith of Age, u find it an Herculean Task 2 ask money from Parents.
For....
Dad; will always remind yhu of how he was self made at yhur age.
The worries begins...
You are 23 and she is 21.
You ve just finish from Engineering wit no 6 digit to your name anymore,,,
And guys being wired to take control, u are frustrated at ur inability to take care of her like you ve always wanted.
I mean where is the cash?
You are still jobless, still hustling, still findind your feet as u await NYSC.
Still putting ur hands into many tins hoping it smiles and reflects in yhur wallet.
All of a sudden, as if the twin brothers; Time and Chance has not done enuf, she starts acting out a telenovela and showing d attitude of a market woman who has lost her purse..
You ring her cell phone and she now takes forever to pick up or return ur texts.
When she finally picks up, the conversation is like a boring interview session for a marketing job with those frustrationg one word replies; yep, nah, kk, nth, fine!
Then she ends a conv with a flimsy excuse like ''wait, let me close the fridge, i will call u ryt back... for wia? U will grow grey beards as u wait and talk 2 the moon so the tomorrow u seek will never cum.
The nights no seem longer..

. Then one day she calls you and asks yhu the 'hu wants 2 be a millionaire show'' question
''where is this relationship heading to?''
You dont even know where your own life is heading to, not to talk of relationship.
Then she drops the bombshell, tells u that she met dis guy, a perfect gentleman by all standards and before u process that, she drops the kickline; ''Am getting married'' ''u know age is not on ma side'' ''a girl is lyk a flower, we have our boom season''.
Now, u are almost compelled to scream.
''but u are just 23, wat happened 2 ''I 'll wait for u, our amazing unborn kids; our unborn daughters- Daniella and Immaculate''
''Cant u jst wait for 3 more years lemme make it! Am i not worth the wait'' u scream in silence..

There is an unusual silence
You just hold urself and play the good boy..

You ask her if she loves him, she dodges the question and replies ''he treats me well'' ...of course he does... He works in a bank..

Well, u now realise she wasnt informing you to take permission, she was simply inviting u 2 d wedding politely... Lol

You have 2 be d cool guy, u hold ur cool and act strong while u burn on d inside.. You wish her well..

One week later, she gives u the traditional wedding card, and then u do the maths; everyone was made to do maths in waec...
Hmmm... She has been talking to the guy for a long time before now.
Then you realise that for every ''K'' u got on whatsapp, the new dude was getting a long epistle.

Ohh! Like Romeo ''Am fortune's fool'' you've been played, you are broken, shattered..
Worse is u cant even blame her. You are just a prospect who no one knows what will become of ur lyf in a few years.

She has gone for the real deal, someone who has a few 7 digits to his last name; a fat cheque book.. You on the oda hand has a couple of bucks in ur back pocket and yhur money on MMM 2 rely on!

I mean, there u are sending her #200 naira airtime and the superstar bobo is telling her 2 manage 10k for the weekend.
No comparison in ur status there bros, its like FC Barcelona and Eyimba of Aba..

Then, you go through that silent heart break guys go thru, the wans they never talk abt.
And unceremoniously, u are the newest member inducted into the association of Left behing gentlemen.. U case even makes the hall of fame.. Ur childhood love and prospective love of ur life (probably ur only shot at true love) is stolen to be married off 2 a man dey barely even know..
divorce and broken home are now options

Your heart is broken into smithereans, you all played victims 2 d vallian.. Victims of not having found your path in your early twenties.

@the wedding* dont say u wont go, u will attend surely* no sight is more hrt breaking than seeing the love of ur life signing dotted lines of her marriage certificate and saying ''I do'' 2 anoda man.. A man she met barely 5 months ago..
..
Then u fabricate a life lesson dere and at that tym T ''its not he that danceth with her, but he that taketh her home''...
The felling is like a million knives pierced into ur soul, all u can tink abt in the peak of that moment is but the pain.. Ouch! It hurts..

To make matters worst, u are distracted with a notification on ur phone; a bank alert...
