The Hemlock Rose

She died inside each day. She hardly imagined her life would take a turn like this. She was a short in height, and a tan-skinned girl whose life was somewhat a typical one.

Her glasses were a just a necessity to spot things at a distance. Never had she thought that someday she would long for glasses which showed hearts of the people surrounding her.

She wasn't a good looker or at least not the one for whom typical lovers would dedicate their love text or heart felt emotion letters to.

She didn't really seem care about it. Surrounded with friends, extra curricular activities and so on, life was just going fine.

One very day, she fell for someone. That someone who surely did for fall for her when she was too insecure to think about her emotions.

So, it may seem that she was an egoist but she wasn't one. Agliophobia was her constant partner.

But the worst thing is she felt each day she was losing him. Losing the old guy, with whom she talked hours,both praising each other of their skills, talking over people, about their experiences and so on. Gradually she felt the pain of being ignored. Never did she ignore him but was getting that behaviour from him.

They lived far away from each other yet the love of her was true. The doubt filled heart of her kept loving him. At the beginning she was crazy, she was furious she felt her world was shattering down in front of her eyes. Each day her prayers were to The Almighty to rectify him, to show him that someone was dying for him.

Still she hopes, but now, she's tired.

Tired of hoping, thinking herself worthless and not his type. Now all his avoidance she tolerates, as if she was forced to swallow broken pieces of glass which pierced her heart.

Even today she hopes, the only thing which keeps her human heart alive. Yeah the story is not of a girl of 21st century. She resides here but her heart is of 80's type.

Morever, she is too fool to understand that in this cruel world, people have faces with many masks.
