The Journey to Quantum Consciousness
The Journey to Quantum Consciousness
All things that live and breathe and move
Have some degree of conscious thought
But how to measure and compare
The different levels they have got?
Is man the highest of them all
The crown of nature's grand design?
Or is there something more sublime
A higher power, a source divine?
And what of creatures small and frail
That crawl and swim and fly and run?
Do they not have a spark of life
A glimpse of something beyond the sun?
And even things that seem inert
The rocks and stones and dust and sand
Do they not have a latent force
A hidden order, a secret plan?
Oh, vain and foolish is the quest
To rank and rate and classify
The various forms of consciousness
That fill the earth and sea and sky
For consciousness is not a switch
That can be turned from off to on
But rather an eternal scale
That stretches from the dark to dawn
And every being has a place
A point upon the infinite line
That marks its level of awareness
Its share of the celestial shine
So rather than to ask the question
"Is it conscious?" as we do
We should inquire with more wisdom
"How conscious is it?" and "How conscious are you?"
For consciousness is a journey
A never-ending search and strife
To gain more knowledge and more power
To become more like the source of life
