POEM: Seasonal Supper
Drop the fork
Plunge the sun
Later spring for honey buns
Shading vegetable parades
Peeling Orion’s onion
Lick your lips
Sinking ships
Taste the tide until the dawn
Chart your four course dish
Fill the belly of a billion
And the sweet
Serpentine
Slithers silk into the mind
Savors scale off in the summer
Sorbet eggs form a shrine
You are full
In the fall
Wipe your mouth with crackled leaves
Browned and skinny like trampled true
Wash your hands, roll up your sleeves
Its a bit too deep for me I believe. Its almost like the poet is likening the whole earth to a meal or something
