Angle I - original poetry
To take an oblique approach. Example -
the crow, jackal-like, waiting for the sheep
to die, stuck on its back : fold the picture
and the field, empty, echoes with its call :
see ghosts of wood pigeons on their flight paths,
hard from the south before dusk to oak woods :
the oak woods are fenced and also empty.
(As the light fades, cornered, they watch the box.)
Evening, night : if you are the sheep, beware
the dangerous flight, the curve of the bird,
the patience of its immmortality,
its cold impartial relentless judgement;
its call, its croak, or its watching silence
counting fear; its beak, waiting for your eye.
The poem is my own and my wife took the photo. Thank you for reading @richardjuckes
Nice work, enjoyed, imaginative. Especially liked-
waiting for the sheep
to die, stuck on its back
Thank you. There are five more in the sequence which I'll post over the next few days. Catching a train to Casablanca now!
