Blood Wood (Original Poem)

in #poetry8 years ago (edited)

The harder he hits
the more he earns.

In a few seconds
the hard fall is forced.

Decades of peace
crushed at one go.

Knows no boundaries,
rules do not matter.

The green turns to mud,
screams are unheard.

Destroys homes of so many,
not shying away from burning all down.

He used to cause damage with his own hands,
but now all it takes is a button.

With every cut
nature's blood drips on his feet.

Moves on to the next,
leaves a dead land behind.

He aims for the seldom, the rarest, the worthful,
which the rich, the powerful ask for.

They are to blame,
not him.

But he sleeps restlessly
in his Ebony bed.

For causing harm to ecosystems -
a small fine to live with.
