Irregardless, entry for Steemit Poetry Contest #14, Words
Do remember when the dictionary was sacred? If a word wasn't in it, a word wasn't a word. It was babble, nonsense, baby talk, something you made up. Nowadays, you can create your own words to your hearts content, and people will go along with you, as long as it doesn't get the red line of doom on the screen.
Scrabble is outdated, crosswords are free for alls, and boggle is king.
The best and easiest approach: take two words that kind of sound the same and frankenstein them together. In this way, irregardless was born and continues to almost make you sound smart. Linguists and their syntax insistence be damned.
Words will be cut up and reformed; born again. As you like ... as long as you can get Google to lay off the red underline.

Well put indeed :) I've noted how apart from basic pronouns the average rap song appears filled to bursting with nothing but newly manufactured terms that are presented with their obscure meanings all merely implied. So (as a muggle in regards to modern rap cultre) I then have to spend the next half an hour consulting the "Urban Dictionary" which is a site that seems to exist for the soul purpose of convincing us to use the strange terms that we find listed there.
I suppose language has always been a fluid thing in many ways, that all it takes is for a word to be used enough times by enough people for a long enough period and then someone decides to add it to the dictionary. But I was surprised to learn that irregardless is considered an actual word according to Google lol, what with being a reknowned absurdity and everything. Although maybe that's it, as I have encountered words that were listed in the dictionary simply to point out that they are a common misuse of a similar sounding word.
I'm ok with most new additions but I must confess that some of these buzz words; especially the over-used "trending" ones feel unecessarily included much of the time, seemingly thrown into any sentence at the first given opportunity (regardless of suitability) just to try and validate their place in history lol :)
LOL ... you are not the only one. I am always running to urban dictionary to figure out just how it is a troll has insulted me. I like to think the urban dictionary keeps me current but I have a feeling it's for fuddy duddies:)

No I haven't gotten any trolls either ... here. It is a very clean platform. Those hurdles at the beginning are effective for that. By the by ... I had another friend join:)
