An Imagined Empire

In-Love-Valentines-Day-Blue-Moon-Couple-Love-3059324 (1).jpg

the ridged meets the smooth
the rough becomes gentle

therapeutic abrasion

an extraordinary touch
whorls and loops
            delicate tracings

an acolyte of the divine
lives in his fingertips
braille tellings
of tales more ancient
           than the Earth
leave prints and patterns
invisible but permanent
laid upon bared flesh

mystical tattoos
          sacred parchement

no direct communication
static and white noise
but she makes her plea
and parole is granted

you may build to heaven

through a curved looking glass
two minds enter into mutual zen

sparkling clear
           sublimating air

shifting chromatics

grand and symbolic
mental architecture

an imagined empire
shaped and formed
given dimension
figured by two

Oh, girl! And that’s how you build an empire! A trace like that lives forever.

The transcending romantic erotism of these lines captivated me, and yet there’s something more to them—to the whole poem, indeed—I don’t know what to call it but it must be some word which means at once architectural, symbiotic and emphatic. I don't know if synergetic would do; probably not; I'll bet Japanese have a word for that.

Awesome, @prydefoltz

I'm coming back to upvote when it bumps up ☻

A wonderful comment. Thank you, Marlyn:)

Upvoted already ☻♥

A beautifully painted word portrait. Nice write.

Thank you, yrretel:)

Beautiful! The smoothness of the images paints a scenario of sublimated encounter, a kind of spell or conspiracy to produce the creation of a world imagined by two beings.

Thank you, zeleira:)

I see a connection of a person who seeks the freedom of his body with an artist that goes beyond imagination. There is a peace in silence.

It has been said that freedom cannot be found in a body. You may be onto something:) Thank you, Cordero:)

Beautifully evasive expression! I almost smell here those pre-universe words (and presumably, worlds too) :).

👍🏿wink

Whoooo! Wow, what a sexy, steamy, reveling in love and beauty of a write. I don't how I missed this one back then!

Thanks, Denise. There was so much poetry flying around back then.

It's a shame Steemit doesn't let us repost content again. They shouldn't cut off the payout either. I'd have voted for that poem in a heartbeat. I believe it's curation worthy too!

Did you grab a copy of my free ebook novelette, *The Dance Plays On…" for yourself?

Thanks, Denise.

The thing with the week deadline is that it works well with the burn off point for payout. A post or comment does not receive a payout unless it makes around 3 cents. The policy allows for less waste in upvotes but they really should not allow anyone to upvote after the week. It would take a hardfork to change both but given the cost of running of the block chain, I do not think they will change the burn-off point. How would it work paying off millions of very small payouts. Past posts don't get a lot of attention.

Yes, I feel rather connected to this poem but the competition for curating was intense back then. That said, I get curating on a regular basis and so I can't complain.

I will work to download your book later today:)

Well, if they keep it that way, then they should let folks post content new again – especially given that posts made on the platform when we're first beginning don't get a lot of eyes on them.

You can always modify what you have posted in the past . If for examply you post your poetry as a slide or image. It will be new again ... so to speak.

Yeah, but then, sometimes, you get a warning about plagiarism. That happened to me and I had to prove it was my own work. The confrontation ended with an admonishment not to repeat content.

If you supply something new with it ... like commentary, reading, or some art. Then you should be fine. You can put the poem on a photo or you can also quote yourself and give a link.' >' before the work is the code for quoting. Then just give the link. I had to do that when I was running those contests and when I didn't I was visited by cheetah too. It is a bother but it protects us too.

Major works like from Joyce or something will be seen many times on this block chain. Just don't repost a whole post like you did the first time and it is not plagiarism.
