A Migrant From a Distant Source (Original)

Now I'm sure I was just a phase
a momentary lapse of spirit
a migrant from the source
and fallen into flesh.

I can feel your eyes looking past me,
blinded by the bright side of things,
mesmerized by the illusion of positivity
and unable to see my gray outline.

I tried to shout about forevers
and their inevitable endings
but you cannot hear these things,
tortured and happy as you are.

But in this biological machine,
buried under veiny circuitry,
there is a new born hope
in dreams of you.

And only when these skeletons
covered in computer-skin
are able to connect again
will this program start to mend
