An Ode to the Artist
What is it that we do? What motivates us to invest so much of ourselves into mediums of expression? Many are not logical or sensible or practical. But nevertheless we invest hours and hours of emotional and physical energy into them. I think there is something deep within us that needs to be known. The art is just a particular pathway we journey to the treasure we feel, we know, must exist somehow. It is a blind act of faith that will slowly reveal that which we have known from the beginning. The artist seeks to construct, enact, or proclaim
A construal of Reality and their relation to It
They carve out a sacred holy space where
Eternity can fleetingly inhabit time
The response, the praise
The worship, the erupting "Yes" is
The acknowledgement of a reality
Whose contingency lies
Beyond the everyday, the mundane
A frequency resonate with the soul
Which calls from beyond the shadows of the senses
So true. There is an artist hidden in all of us. The medium in which it is revealed varies, but unites us all.
