All things Calm and quiet
What can I say?
Do I still need to scream or even shout
Of what use is it now?
There is the silence of those unjustly punished,
And the silence of the dying whose hand
Suddenly grips yours.
There is the silence between a mother and daughter
There is the silence between father and son
When the father cannot explain his life.
There is the silence of those who have failed.
Broken nations, homes and vanquished leaders.
And there is the silence of the dead.
If we that are alive can not speak how then would the dead.
